About Me

I am licensed as a school psychologist by the Virginia Board of Psychology. I earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Educational Psychology, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

I conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and provide counseling support to children and adolescents in my private practice. In addition, I have over sixteen years experience working in public education settings as a school psychologist for children ranging from preschool through high school. My extensive experience working in public education enables me to assist families on how best to access educational resources and supports for their children.

As a parent of two children, I clearly understand that all parents want their children to succeed and possess the skills, confidence, and motivation to pursue their interests and dreams. Therefore, I work collaboratively with families to determine how best to address their child’s challenges. Consultation services are provided to parents who have questions and/or concerns regarding their child’s development, social/emotional functioning, attention span, academic skills, and/or behavior.

Additionally, I present to parents and educators on important topics of interests including mental health issues, learning, behavioral, and social/emotional difficulties. Specific topics include –

Child and Adolescent Development
Organizational Strategies and Study Skills
Assessment and Diagnosis of Learning Disabilities
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Special Education/IEP Process
Behavior Modification for School and Home

Lastly, I am a member of the following professional organizations –

National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
Virginia Psychological Association (VPA)
Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD)
The International Dyslexia Association (IDA)
